Other HCSA Activities
In addition to the Summer String Festival, here are some of HCSA's other activities
Beginning Orchestra and Young Strings Group Classes
Young Strings students are classified as beginning students who recently began learning an instrument, through students who have had approximately two years of study on an instrument. (Generally these students are around grades 1-3 or 4, unless students have been playing for more than two years.)
Beginning Orchestra students are typically learning songs near the end of Suzuki Book 1 or later and have learned alternate fingerings on their instrument. (Generally these students are in grades 4-6 or 7).
The group instructor and the student’s private lessons teachers will help determine where to place the students based on their capabilities.
Rehearsals are held at Hillsdale First United Methodist Church on Saturday mornings.
Students in group lessons or the chamber orchestra may download music and other resources here. (Link not available at this time.)
